International flight
connections
North
East and East India
To reach the North Eastern regions one can fly to Calcutta and
either continue the journey by train or take a local flight to
Bagdogra for Sikkim or Guwahati to reach the North Eastern states.
One could also fly to Delhi and catch a domestic flight from there
since there are more international flights to Delhi than to Calcutta.
For North India the central
airport is Delhi International Airport from where there are various
flight connections to different domestic airports throughout North
India. New Delhi is also well connected by train to the whole
of India.
For West India one can fly
to Mumbai (Bombay) or Delhi which is near to Punjab, Hariyana
or Northern Rajasthan.
South India
For Maharastra and Goa it is best to fly to Mumbai/Bombay. From
there one can continue by train or flight to Goa. For Kerala and
Tamil Nadu one can fly to Chennai (Madras), which is well connected
by internatinal flights. To Kerala one can take a connecting plane
or train to Kochi or Trivandrum. These days Karnataka is also
well connected internationally via Bangalore, however Chennai
still offers a wider range of connections.
National
flight connections
India's
domestic flight connections have improved a lot in recent times
and thanks to a healthy competition due to many new airlines the
prizes have come down. The Indian domestic flight market is one
of the fastest growing in the world, with hundreds of planes added
to the airline fleets in the upcoming years. There are good offers
for bookings which are done well in advance. Desire Earth
can book your domestic flights if you wish so.
