Sikkim's North is a wide mountain landscape with its high plateaus adjoining Tibet. In these secluded heights the Green Lake Trek is having expedition character; since obtaining of the permit is a lengthy process this route is less trekked. The lonely vast mountain landscape and the breathtaking views to the peaks of the Khanchendzonga Range make this trek unique among its kind. In the high Muguthang valley Nomads graze their Yak and Sheep herds in the loneliness of the valleys. High Passes border the unlimited hidden Himalayas.

The Green Lake Trek is one of the more difficult ones in Sikkim. The Route is suitable for people with mountain and high altitude experience and a good physical fitness. For inexperienced it is advisable to extend the trek by three days for acclimatization.
