This trek along the mystical Tholung valley with its green mountain forests and isolate pastures leads along the gushing Tholung river. The valley is almost uninhabited with its few herdsmen and monks, which are mainly of Lepcha tribe origin.

The Tholung Monastery is one of the four most sacred monasteries in Sikkim. It was built in the 18th century and contains ancient scripts and religious artifacts which were brought here for security reasons during the times of conflicts  with the neighboring Nepal.

Beyond the Tholung monastery a three day trek leads to the awesome Kishong Lake, and from there to the 4785m high Kishong-La Pass. From this pass nestled between the peaks of Yakjuknamteng and Lama Angden one can enjoy one of the most impressive views to the Khanchendzonga Massive. Especially the views on the cone shaped and almost symmetric Mt Sinioulchu is overwhelming.
